NACCS XXXIV
Chicanas and Chicanos from all over Aztlán have begun to converge in San José, Califaztlán today for the first day of the 34th annual meeting of NACCS (National Association for Chicana and Chicano Studies). The theme this year is "Sociocultural and Ideological Shifts: Chicana/o Migratory Movements and Immigration Passages."
The MEChA grapevine has alluded to the fact that many MEChistAs will be present and also presenting their work at the conference. This falls in line with the National MEChA Chicana/o Studies Advocacy Agenda passed during the 2000 National MEChA Conference in El Paso, Tejaztlán. It encourages all MEChA chapters to actively participate in NACCS.
Make sure to let us know about your experience and/or presentation so that we can share with those that are not able to make it. Please submit your stories to: naccs@nationalmecha.org.
